Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure.
BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) is an electronic breathing device used in the treatment of sleep apnea, lung disease, and to treat respiratory weakness. Also known as NIPPV, use of the device overnight improves quality of sleep, daytime sleepiness, and may improve thinking ability.
It is commonly known as “BiPAP” or “BPAP.” It is a type of ventilator—a device that helps with breathing.
It is suitable for clinical and home treatment of sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and respiratory failure diseases, like as bellows:
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD)
